We created a Rube Goldberg Machine with 30 different parts spanning 2 rooms. My group's part featured a pencil in a hole preventing a rubber band from launching a ball down a tunnel. The pencil was lifted when a golf ball fell into a cup, acting as a pulley, which would lower because of the weight, lifting the pencil out of the hole and launching the ball.
